- Press Release
AsiaQuest Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Jun Momoi; hereinafter "AsiaQuest"), in cooperation with DENTSU SOKEN SECURE SOLUTIONS INC. (formerly ISID-AO, Ltd.) (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Ichiro Yabuguchi; hereinafter "DENTSU SOKEN SECURE SOLUTIONS"), has started supporting Beppu City in Oita by participating in a project to introduce a disaster prevention equipment management IoT solution.
■Support for municipal DX and Digital First based on experience gained from a wide variety of IoT projects
AsiaQuest has been helping to solve various needs in offices, medical institutions, logistics, etc. by developing systems to manage and visualize the movement of people and objects using IoT technology and 3D visualization.
We have been commissioned to build a stockpile management system for Beppu City, and have started a project to introduce a solution utilizing IoT and RFID*1 from August 2022. The service is scheduled to go live in 2023.
■Purpose of Introduction
This system streamlines the management of incoming/outgoing confirmation and expiration dates of stockpiled disaster relief supplies through the use of RFID. The system visualizes in real time the status of goods distributed from stockpile warehouses to shelters and other locations in the event of a disaster, thereby creating an environment that enables the prompt and efficient provision of stockpiled goods. The purpose of this system is to contribute to safety and security during disasters.
■What is the Disaster Prevention Equipment Management IoT Solution?
Using IoT/RFID, the following efficiency and labor-saving operations can be achieved.
1. Grasping the status of incoming and outgoing shipments
The delivery and receiving status of goods can be checked and registered without any hassle using RFID. Also, when delivering goods to evacuation centers, it is possible to read the RFID tags attached to the goods and grasp the status of goods being delivered from the warehouse without any hassle.
2. Streamlining of management operations
By adopting RFID tags, inventory checks and delivery/receipt checks can be carried out efficiently. In addition, by linking RFID tags attached to goods with various information such as expiration dates and storage shelf numbers, it is possible to make a list of expired goods and accurately identify their storage locations, thereby saving labor in management operations.
3. Fault tolerance and safety
This solution is a system that operates in a cloud environment, providing an environment that is highly resilient to disasters. In addition, since the system operates in a private environment for the exclusive use of customers, access can be restricted to related parties, preventing unauthorized access and ensuring safe use.
The solution also utilizes Roconie*2 provided by DENTSU SOKEN SECURE SOLUTIONS.
*1 RFID:
It stands for Radio Frequency IDentification. An automatic identification technology that uses radio waves to capture information from IC tags in a non-contact manner, convert it into data, and perform authentication, etc.
*2 What is Roconie?
Roconie is an application package that makes it easy to introduce RFID into business operations.
Roconie uses RFID (radio-frequency identification) technology to prevent human error and improve work efficiency by allowing the system to record and confirm the presence of goods and people in inventory, lending management, warehouse entry/exit management, and access control.
The system is packaged with basic functions that utilize operation-confirmed devices, cloud computing, smartphones, etc., so there is no need to design and develop from scratch. Furthermore, the system can be easily customized and expanded as needed.
This product is ideal for customers who want to start small improvement activities by adapting RFID to their on-site operations, or who want to improve on-site efficiency without affecting existing systems.
■Outlook for the future
AsiaQuest will strengthen its DX promotion to many local governments and public organizations based on its track record of IoT and RFID implementation. In addition, AsiaQuest will continue to support DX and Digital First of public institutions by comprehensively providing development and implementation services of various advanced technologies in the IoT/cloud domain, leveraging its knowledge and technical capabilities certified as an "AWS Public Sector Partner*3".
