What is Airbnb?
Airbnb is a platform that allows travelers to rent out their own rooms and homes as accommodations. Since its establishment in the U.S. in 2008, the number of hosts has been increasing, and currently there are hosts in more than 100,000 cities in 192 countries.
Because it is possible to rent a local room off the so-called tourist spots at a reasonable accommodation cost, guests are often backpackers who are traveling and also use the rooms for family vacations. In Japan, the Residential Accommodation Business Law went into effect on June 15, 2018, so you need to obtain a notification of residential accommodation business operator to rent out as a host.
