ABOUT PROJECT

KAJIMA CORPORATION

Comprehensive Web-Based Visualization of Construction Sites,
Providing Development Support for the Integrated Construction Site Visualization and Management System, 'Field Browser®'.

KAJIMA CORPORATION is one of Japan’s leading general contractors. AsiaQuest supported the development of their integrated management system, “Field Browser®,” which enables centralized management of people, equipment, and machinery locations and operating statuses at construction sites—along with environmental information such as weather and traffic data.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

The Need for Information Integration to Improve Construction Site Management Efficiency

KAJIMA CORPORATION has been working on various initiatives to drive projects forward by responding swiftly and appropriately to the complex and ever-changing conditions at construction sites. Accurate understanding of various data—such as workers, machinery, and weather—is essential for smooth decision-making on site. Especially in situations where on-site confirmation is needed to gain insight or where an overview is necessary, the “visualization” of the site becomes a key issue.
To tackle this challenge, KAJIMA CORPORATION is promoting initiatives to “visualize the site” by collecting and storing massive amounts of on-site information as digital data in the cloud. As part of this initiative, they are using ICT devices and sensors to digitize data such as the locations and working status of people and machinery. However, because these systems are often tailored for specific purposes, information tends to be managed individually—highlighting the need for centralized management and operational efficiency.

ROLE

Engaged in Requirements Definition, System Design, and Development

AsiaQuest participated in this project with a team of four specialists: a project manager, system engineer, frontend engineer, and backend engineer. In the initial phase, we conducted thorough hearings with the client to identify specific site issues and requirements, forming the foundation for the requirements definition.

We proposed a design that centralized the previously dispersed system data into a single database using AWS infrastructure. On the frontend, we used React to create an intuitive and user-friendly interface.

Various data sources—including Google Maps, Halex API, and GPS trackers—were integrated to enable real-time data visualization.

Throughout the project, we held regular meetings once or twice a week and maintained smooth communication using Teams. We not only provided technical proposals but also actively sought better solutions to address the client’s challenges. Even after the system’s release, we continue to provide operation and maintenance support, ensuring rapid assistance and stable system usage.

・Real-Time Display of Vital Signs for Workers

Provides alerts for abnormal heart rate, allowing early detection of potential health issues.

・Operational Rate Analysis and Optimal Allocation of Machinery and Vehicles

Collects data on operating/inactive statuses, supporting optimization of equipment deployment.

■  Spatial Recognition Using 3D Data

・Advanced Spatial Recognition Through 3D Visualization

By importing 3D data, spatial understanding of structures such as bridges and dams is enhanced. Additionally, icons can be freely placed using a “3D sketching” feature.

OUTLOOK FOR THE FUTURE

Aiming for Greater On-Site Efficiency and Enhanced Safety

Going forward, the system will be improved in response to on-site feedback, focusing on better usability and functionality while incorporating new technologies. Furthermore, to contribute to accelerating digital transformation (DX) across the construction industry, we will continue to make improvements and proposals to deliver more value to a wider range of companies.

TESTIMONIAL

Customer Feedback

Since implementing Field Browser, we have been able to obtain real-time information across our construction sites, significantly improving productivity. In particular, accurately understanding the locations and operating status of personnel, heavy machinery, and vehicles has enabled faster and more appropriate decision-making.

Moreover, the health alert function for detecting unusual vitals has enhanced our safety management, allowing us to carry out operations easily. We are especially grateful for AsiaQuest’s flexibility in responding to our requests and the smooth development of integrated services. We are confident that Field Browser will be highly beneficial for our future projects.
